The Maria Alm nativity play - the last bastion of exclusively 'einheimish' (local) tradition, has been infiltrated. Outsiders, Caspar and Mary have sufficiently mastered the local dialect - with nuances known only to those living within a 30 metre radius of the centre of Maria Alm, to land the lead roles (Mary and Joseph) in the annual Christmas performance, played to a full house, of which roughly 5% have the vaguest idea what they are actually saying.
